Position Summary
This position is a key contributor for University of Nebraska Online Worldwide goals and objectives. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Distance Education and Director of University of Nebraska Online Worldwide this position is assigned to program development and administration, business data analysis and institutional reporting, policy analysis, strategic planning and implementation.
Minimum Qualification
Masters degree in education, marketing, business or related field plus four years of experience working with postsecondary education is required, however, consideration may be given to candidates with a Bachelors degree who demonstrate exceptional qualities and skills relevant to this position.

Knowledge of distance education and at least four years of experience in student services, program development, planning and implementation of new distance education programs is strongly preferred. Applicant must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and presentation skills are essential. Computer proficiency skills in Word, Excel and Power Point required.

Essential Functions
Online Worldwide Program Development & Administration:
Under the direction of the AVP/Director, in concert with the strategic directions of Nebraska Online Worldwide, and in collaboration with campus leadership:
- Coordinates and develops online degree, non-degree and professional education offerings.
- Promotes the integration of NU Online Worldwide activities and staff within the wider academic audience.
- Develops & coordinates online education policy and procedures; which includes monitoring state-wide and national distance education policy and regulations.
- Recommends and develops proposals and grant applications to external organizations to advance distance education mission and strategies.
- Fosters close working relationships with senior administrators, faculty and staff to assess needs and priorities of current/future endeavors and collaboratively develop a comprehensive strategy for distance education.
- Work in partnership with AVP and Marketing Director in all aspects of promotion and public relations for NU Online Worldwide
- Cultivates national and international relationships and actively networks in the distance education community.
- Represents the AVP/Director when needed.
- Assumes administrative responsibility for NU Online Worldwide in the absence of the AVP/Director.

Business Data Analysis & Institutional Reporting
- Directs and evaluates the collection of distance education data.
- Coordinates the reporting process, assembles the information and provides management reports and documentation as required.

Learner Systems & Support
- Collaborate with campus personnel to identify and ensure best practices for distance education learners.
- Identify diverse populations of adult learners and explore ways to incorporate their needs and requirements into NU Online Worldwide strategies.

Faculty and Staff Development
- Communicate to faculty, students, or other users availability of, or changes to, distance learning courses or materials, programs, services, or applications
- Encourages and facilitates collaboration among campuses for the development of new undergraduate and graduate distance education degree and certificate programs.
- Develops and implement online symposiums and faculty instructional seminars
